PUBLIC WEBSITE POLICY

Acceptable Use

Effective: October 29, 2026 · Founding-stage version

This is a baseline website policy, not a claim that OWI has completed legal formation or received tax-exempt status.

Scope

This policy applies to use of the OWI website and will serve as a baseline for future submission and community services. Additional rules may apply to specific services when they launch.

Lawful and safe use

Do not use OWI systems to violate law, facilitate harm, distribute malware, exploit vulnerabilities, evade access controls, interfere with service, or gain unauthorized access to systems or information.

Truthful participation

Do not impersonate others, fabricate affiliations or evidence, misrepresent project ownership, manipulate reviews, conceal a material relationship, or describe unverified work as approved by OWI.

Respect for people

Harassment, credible threats, targeted abuse, exploitation, doxxing, and discriminatory attacks are prohibited. Good-faith criticism, research, and evidence-based disagreement remain welcome.

Rights, confidentiality, and licenses

Share only content you have the right to provide. Respect intellectual property, attribution, open licenses, privacy, confidential information, security restrictions, and project-maintainer boundaries.

Automated and high-volume access

Do not use automation in a way that degrades service, defeats protections, collects personal information improperly, or falsely represents human engagement. Reasonable public indexing and research should respect published technical controls.

Security research

Do not access, alter, or retain data beyond what is necessary to demonstrate a potential vulnerability. Avoid privacy harm and service disruption. A dedicated security-reporting method will be published before interactive systems launch.

Enforcement and preservation

OWI may restrict access, preserve relevant records, correct public claims, or contact appropriate providers or authorities when reasonably necessary for security, safety, legal compliance, or protection of others.

Appeals and changes

Before community features open, OWI intends to publish proportionate moderation, notice, appeal, and recordkeeping procedures. Material changes to this policy will be dated.
